Wayne Curtis Obituary

Wayne C. Curtis CHESAPEAKE - Wayne C. Curtis, 60, of the 1200 block of Butts Station Road, went to be with the Lord Sunday, June 28, 2009. Born in Norfolk, he was the son of the late Irvin C. and Eunice Anderson Curtis. He was the shop manager for Elbow Farms Inc. He was a member of Great Bridge Free Will Baptist Church, Chesapeake. Wayne will be remembered for his love of racing in the IHRA. He also enjoyed camping and spending time with his family. Survivors include his loving wife of 27 years, Margaret P. Curtis; a daughter, Lisa K. Curtis and fiancé Christopher Stanton; a grandson on the way, Seth K. Stanton; a sister, Barbara C. Clark as well as a large extended family whom he loved deeply. The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 2, at the Great Bridge Chapel of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, 653 Cedar Road, Chesapeake. The Rev. Hal Jones will officiate. The interment will follow in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The viewing will begin Wednesday with the family receiving friends from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideon's International. Friends are invited to sign the online guest book and to view the service via live web cast at www.omanfh.com.
