Mary Gregory Obituary

Mary W. Gregory VIRGINIA BEACH - Mary W. Gregory, 67, died unexpectedly at Sentara Bayside Hospital June 30, 2009. Mary grew up on a dairy farm in Iowa. She started her education in a one-room school house, and she later received her bachelor's degree from Old Dominion University. She had lived in Virginia Beach since 1968 and retired from the federal service in 2002. She is survived by her husband, Willis Gregory; two children, Tina Miller (Scott) and Scott Messner (Jenny); and two grandchildren, Henry and Emma Miller; and a soon-to-be-born grandchild. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 5, at the Cypress Point Country Club, 5340 Club Head Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23455. Anyone with a fond memory of Mary is encouraged to present it briefly at this time. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in memory of Mary to the charity of your choice. Those who cannot attend may offer condolences to the family online at www.altmeyer.com.

To the Willis Family: My prayers, sympathy and condoloscences are with you. I was a former co-worker at DTTS, Naval Base, Norfolk, VA with Mr. Willis Gregory and I know that the family is experiencing a big loss. Mr Gregory always talked about his wife and family and I knew he loved her very much. Please remember that her love, presence will always be with and God will comfort you in your hour of sorrow. Just remember that she will always be with you in your hearts. I pray that he wraps his arms around you and comfort you. My prayers are with you.
