James Miller Obituary

James E. Miller COLINGTON - Capt. James Edward Miller, 66, passed away at his residence Sunday, July 5, 2009, in Green Creek, N.J. Born in 1942, he was the son of Odessa Mae Crank Miller and the late Patrick Henry Miller. He was also predeceased by a sister, Annie Miller Rogers. Mr. Miller is survived by his current wife, Laura A. Miller of the residence and his former wife, Lynda Gallop, the mother of his three daughters. He will be deeply missed by his family as well as the commercial fishing industry. In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Miller is survived by his three daughters, Jamie Horning and husband James of Manteo, Tena Stetson and husband Woodrow and Kimberly Miller, all of Wanchese; a sister, Nellie Sawyer; and three brothers, William Miller, Russell Lee Miller and Lonnie Hubert Miller. Also left to cherish his memory are his five grandchildren, Heather Lynn Bridges, James Stuart Horning Jr., Frederick Ryan Vance, Otto Joel Stetson and Tiah Caroline Stetson; and his current wife's children, Josanna Weber, Joey Fiore and Johnny Fiore. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 10, at Hill Top Cemetery, Colington, with the Rev. Roger Barnett officiating. A visitation will be Thursday, July 9, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Twiford's Funeral Home, Manteo. Visit www.twifordfh.comto sign the online register.
