Florence Brooks Obituary

Florence R. Brooks NORFOLK - Florence R. "Sister" Brooks, 97, of the 2900 block of St. Mihiel Ave., passed away July 1, 2009, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. She was born March 4, 1912, in Norfolk. She retired from U.S. civil service in 1983 after 42 years of service. She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Cynthia Keeling (Richard); one brother, Ernest Royal (Naomi); one nephew, Theodore Holmes; three grandsons, Corey Brooks (Linda), Richard Keeling III and Darious Keeling; one granddaughter, LaTanisha Keeling; four great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Metropolitan Funeral Service, 7246 Granby St. Interment will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake.
