David Allen Nevitt Sr.

David A. Nevitt Sr. VIRGINIA BEACH - David Allen Nevitt Sr., 75, of the 400 block of Lynn Shores Drive, passed away July 5, 2009, in his home. A native of Toledo, Ohio, he was the son of the late Joseph and Frances Nevitt. He retired from civil service as an air traffic controller and later as a security officer from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He is survived by two daughters, Deborah Ann Hueber of Grapevine, Texas, and Diane Marie Jolley of Chesapeake; four sons, Dennis Michael Nevitt of Moneta, Va., Donald Joseph Nevitt, David Allen Nevitt Jr. and Daniel Kelly Nevitt, all of Virginia Beach; a brother, Darrell Nevitt of Jacksonville, Fla.; and 10 grandchildren. A graveside service with military honors will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
