Cecelia Watts Obituary

Cecelia A. Watts CHESAPEAKE - Cecelia A. Watts died July 2, 2009. Born in Newport, R.I., Jan. 16, 1924, she was daughter of the late Manuel S. and Angelina L. Marks. She was married in 1942 to Paul V. Watts Sr., who made the Navy his career. He retired as master chief and made their home in Chesapeake for 48 years. She worked at GE and various nurseries, loving anything pertaining to horticulture. Her other hobbies included egg art, sewing, painting and gardening. She leaves a son, Paul V. Watts Jr.; two grandsons, Ronald Chandler of Arizona and Michael Chandler of Pennsylvania; and six great-grandchildren. Cecelia was predeceased by her brothers, August and Raymond, formerly of Middletown, R.I., Lester, formerly of California; and her sister, Louise Faria, formerly of Portsmouth. She is also survived by her sister, Patricia Lees of Portsmouth, R.I.; 10 nieces and one nephew. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 13, in St. Matthew's Catholic Church, Virginia Beach.
