Dorothy Peacock Obituary

Dorothy G. Peacock PORTSMOUTH - Dorothy Gray "Dot" Peacock, 90, of the 200 block of Nevada St., died Wednesday, July 8, 2009, in her residence. A native of Portsmouth, she was a retired court reporter from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. She was a member of First Friends Church, Beazley Senior Center, a former member and official of Portsmouth Temple No. 4 Pythian Sisters and the Portsmouth Business Professional Club. Survivors include a brother, Howard James Gray Jr. of Portsmouth; two nieces, Therese Anderson and husband Tony of Portsmouth and Lisa Worsley and husband Tom of Chesapeake; two great-nieces, Tina Sullivan and Jennifer Worsley; two great-nephews, James Burch and Matthew Worsley; a great-great-niece and a great-great-nephew. A funeral will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in First Friends Church by the Revs. David Roudabush and Jim Myers. Entombment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, today from 7 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Friends Church. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com.

I am so sorry to hear about Dot passing away. She was a wonderful person and neighbor. I have surely missed her these past 4 years since I left Portsmouth. Know that my prayers are with you all and especially a prayer for Dot in heaven. She will be missed.
