John Hanson

John C. Hanson VIRGINIA BEACH - John C. Hanson, 63, passed away peacefully July 17, 2009, with his family at his side. A native of Portland, Ore., he was the son of Bella Hanson and the late Jack M. Hanson and Emily Cooper. He served in the U.S. Navy. After military service he established John's Mobile Car Care. In 1979, he followed in his father's footsteps and became a realtor. He established Hanson and Associates in 1984 as broker/owner. He was the consummate professional, caring deeply for his clients and his staff. He served on many boards including the Professional Standards Committee and achieved designations of GRI, CRS, ABR, and SRES. He is survived by his mom, Bella Hanson; sisters, Judy Fogo and Lynell Cooper-Joslin; daughter, Kimberly Little; granddaughter, Ehmilae Augustine; his loving girlfriend, Kay King; and cousin and partner-in- mischief, Janell Jones. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nadine Hanson. He is further survived by a large extended family including one stepdaughter and three stepsons, their families and countless lifelong friends. The family would like to give a special thanks to Mrs. Chandler "Jeff" Crook and Jeri Fisher for being his second and indispensable family. A funeral will be held Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at 2 p.m. in St. Johns Lutheran Church in Norfolk. The family will receive friends in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, Tuesday, from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters or the American Cancer Society.
