Elizabeth Mueller Obituary

Elizabeth Stogner Mueller HAMPTON - Elizabeth Mueller, 42, was called home to the Lord Friday, July 31, 2009, in her home with her family by her side. A native of Decatur, Ill., she was a Peninsula resident for 10 years. Mrs. Mueller was branch manager for the Tidewater Telephone Employees Credit Union for the past six years. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and a volunteer at Children's Hospital of The King's Daughter with her service dog, Megan. Survivors include her husband of 18 years, Thomas Mueller; parents, Anne and William Stogner; sister, Claire Stogner; and brothers, Joseph, Mike and Steve Stogner. The family will receive friends beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Decatur, Ill., with a memorial service being conducted at 11 a.m. at the church. Memorials may be made to the Animal Aid Society, www.animalaid-va.org. Peninsula Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.

I worked with Eli at Stars and Stripes Video in Mattoon Il. She was great at and away from work. Eli brought fun wherever she was and always smiling. Time moved on. I will always remember the great times we had. I remeber back in the day her talking about her family and little brothers. My heart goes out to Tom and her family. I am sorry I was unable to make the service (Thanks for the phone call Tom)

My husband Brian and I met Eli at the credit union in Hampton Va. She was always very pleasant, helpful, funny, and sweet. I remember the day she found her little furry puppy in the dumpster. What a lucky little dog!!! We would always talk about dogs,especially the ones at Animal Aid. I am very grateful that she remembered our dogs at the shelter. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. It was a pleasure, blast, honor, privilege, I’m not sure which word (perhaps all) best describes working with, as well as knowing Eli. Talking to her always had a way of brightening the day. She constantly seemed to have some little quip that would end the conversation with laughter, whether the chat was for business or if it was personal….She would send notes, candy, a trinket, a joke; WHATEVER she thought would bring a smile to your face. She had a real knack for dealing with people, as though she knew exactly what you needed at the moment. She was a true gem, and she will be missed. I am very sorry I didn’t keep in touch with her as much as I should’ve.

We had the pleasure of knowing her for many years through the credit union, she always had a smile on her face. She became a good freind over the years, even attending my wedding, she will be greatly missed. We pray for her friends and family to have peace and comfort.

I am heartbroken to learn of Elizabeth's passing. She was my dearest and best girlfriend from school-way back from kindergarten through high school....funny thing is I was just thinking about her and her mom a few days ago...so many memories...

I went to High School with Elizabeth and to this day I can remember her for a consistent smile. I am saddened and shocked to hear of her passing. I took the time to get out my junior yearbook and read what she had to write and it brought back some fond memories of our classes together. My deepest sympathies to her family!

Words can not express the feeling of loss that we all share...

I worked with Eli at TTECU also and she was a wonderful, giving, loving person who was always cheerful and happy.
