Della Mae Griffin Wilson CHESAPEAKE - Della Mae Griffin Wilson, 67, of the 2000 block of Allison Drive, passed away July 30, 2009. She was born Nov. 24, 1941, to the late Patsy and Ruben Griffin Sr. in Norfolk County. She was a member of New Christian Home Baptist Church where she served on the Hospitality Committee and pastor's aide. Della Mae was a retired private nurse and was a self-employed caterer. She was predeceased by a son, George W. Wilson. She is survived by 10 daughters, Mary Parker, Patsy Selio, Florence Wilson, Della Moss, Diane Curley, Vivian Jones, Annette Reese, Anitra Dozier, Fatima Stewart and Rosalyn Stewart; one son, James Wilson; 39 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one sister, Vivian Griffin; one brother, Ruben Griffin Jr.; a family friend, William McCoy; and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Metropolitan Funeral Service, 120 W. Berkley Ave. Entombment will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Family and friends will assemble at 2040 Allison Drive one hour prior to the service for the procession to the chapel. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
