Donald Gaylord Obituary

Donald G. Gaylord Sr. NORFOLK - Donald Glynn Gaylord Sr., 80, of the 1100 block of George St., died Aug. 7, 2009, at Sentara Leigh Hospital. Born in Ransomville, N.C., he was a waterworks inspector for the City of Norfolk and retired from there. He is survived by his brother, Russell Gaylord (Iola) of Glen Alpine, N.C.; three daughters, JoAnn Mueller (Dave) of Denver, Colo., Ruby Pfleger (Keith) of Smithfield, Va., and Donna Ellis (Richard) of Norfolk; one son, Donald Gaylord Jr. (Lisa) of Virginia Beach; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends for a visitation today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 6329 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., Norfolk. A funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel by Dr. Paul C. Lawson. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at their home after the service at 1117 George St. Condolences may be offered to the family online at www.woodlawngroup.com.
