Kenneth Tucker Obituary

Kenneth Lee Tucker VIRGINIA BEACH - Kenneth Lee Tucker of the 700 block of Abbey Arch passed away Aug. 17, 2009, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Among the family left behind are his loving and devoted wife Alda of 43 years; two sons, Robert Tucker of Virginia Beach, Frank Tucker and his wife Patricia of Chesapeake; other relatives include brother-in-law, Marco and Ruth Maddaluno of Boston; and an aunt, Mable Tucker of Rogers, Texas. Ken was born in Waco, Texas, to Fern and Roy Tucker on Sept. 19, 1938. He served his country for 30 years, retiring from the United States Navy as a chief petty officer. During his tour, he served in many foreign countries, and fought during the Vietnam War and the Lebanon conflict. He will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 6 p.m. in Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. Inurnment will be held at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, Friday, Aug. 28, at 2:30 p.m. with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 4416 Expressway Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23452 or the American Diabetes Association, 870 Greenbrier Circle, Chesapeake, VA 23320.
