Inez Holt Obituary

Inez L. Holt IVOR - Inez Lowe Holt, 92, widow of Conrad Norton Holt Sr., died Aug. 19, 2009 at her daugthter's residence. She was born in Southampton County, the oldest child of the late Mabel Drewry and Saint Luke Lowe. Mrs. Holt was predeceased by a son, Merle R. Holt Sr.; three sisters, Louise Holt, Helen Warren and Sadie Turner; her brother, Haywood G. Lowe; and half brother, Robert "Bud" Barnes. She was a 1933 graduate of Franklin High School, a retired Holt Metal Works clerk and a member of Corinth Friends Meeting. Survivors include three daughters, Carolyn Ellis Tart and husband Phil of Sedley, Sherry H. Pickens of Suffolk, and Jean Paige Galtress and husband Bill of Zuni; one son, Conrad N. Holt Jr. and wife Rachelle of Java; 18 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Elise Asbell of Suffolk and Juanita Rousse of Louisianna. The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Corinth Friends Meeting with Pastor Tony Lowe and Pastor David Hobson officiating. Interment will follow in the Holt Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, and suggests memorials be made to Corinth Friends Meeting, c/o Elton Raiford, 32282 Seacock Chapel Road, Ivor, VA 23866. Condolences may be offered at www.wrightfuneralhome.org.
