Paul Moye Obituary

Paul Ray Moye VIRGINIA BEACH - Paul Ray Moye, 74, passed away Aug. 20, 2009, after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born May 14, 1935, in Wayne County, North Carolina, to the late Walter and Maggie Moye. He retired from the U.S. Navy after 20 years of service. He was the previous owner of Komfort King Heating and Cooling. Paul was a member of Bayside Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Betty Moye; two sons, Walter and his daughter Ashley, stepchildren, Crystal and Steven; Paul and wife Sheila, their children Paul Jr., Patrick and Holly; a daughter, Lisa Rucka, husband Richard, their children Jessica, Michael and Richard Jr.; three sisters, Mildred Pate and Rachel Singleton of Goldsboro, N.C., and OlaMae Adams of Seven Springs, N.C.; brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Bea Smith of Clayton, N.C.; six nephews and three nieces. He was predeceased by a sister, Ovileen Alexander. The family would like to express thanks to the caregivers of Heartland Hospice for their care and support. A funeral will be held Monday at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, at 1:30 p.m. by the Rev. Mark Pullen. Burial will follow in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Bayside Baptist Family Life Center, 1920 Pleasure House Road, Virginia Beach, VA 23455.
