Albert Mason Obituary

Albert Brooks Mason EXMORE - Albert Brooks Mason, 83, husband of Meme Mears Mason and a resident of Exmore, passed away Friday, Aug. 21, 2009, at his residence. A native of Scarborough's Neck, he was the son of the late Samuel Peter Mason Jr. and Nannie Jewell Doughty Mason. He retired from the A&P Store. He was past chief and member of the Exmore Community Fire Company, member of Belle Haven United Methodist Church, and past member of the Little Pungo Ruritan Club. Mr. Mason volunteered for 35 years selling tickets at the Wachapreague Carnival. Other than his wife, he is survived by three sons, Albert B. Mason Jr. and his wife Audrey of Sandston, Va., William E. Mason and his wife Mary of Birdsnest, Va., J. Andrew Mason and his wife Dale Foster of Keedysville, Md.; a sister, Alice M. Perdue of Parksley; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Monday, Aug. 24, at 2 p.m. from the Belle Haven United Methodist Church with Pastor Judith Worthington and Pastor Louis Timmons officiating. Interment will follow in the Belle Haven Cemetery. Family will join friends at the Doughty Funeral Home today from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Eastern Shore, 165 Market St., Suite No. 3, Onancock, VA 23417 or to Belle Haven United Methodist Church, P.O.
