Linnie Cummings Obituary

Linnie O. Cummings CHESAPEAKE - Linnie Odom Cummings, 101, passed away Friday, Aug. 28, 2009, in a local hospital. She was a native of Rockledge, Ga., and was the daughter of the late Richard and Melissa Odom. She was a member of Churchland Baptist Church, a devoted past member of Cradock Baptist Church and Washington Virginia Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Euree Cummings; brother, R.V. Odom; three sisters, Lola Odom, Gladys Brandt and Alma Alford. She is survived her daughter, Betty C. Klise of Chesapeake; a son, Euree O. Cummings and wife Dottie of Suffolk; eight grandchildren, Gale Ross, Guy Ross, Sue Klise, John Klise, Janis Klise, Carolyn Parker, Lynn Bartley and Jackie Vick; 15 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Churchland Baptist Church, today from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Graveside service will be held at noon in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. at the church by the Rev. Lawrence Coleman, Dr. Dan Koger and the Rev. Phil Bailey. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is handling arrangements. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com.
