Louise Floyd Obituary

Louise Murphy Floyd MARIONVILLE - Louise Murphy Floyd, 82, of Marionville, Va., passed away Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, at her residence. She was predeceased by her parents, Atlas and Flora Hurley Murphy; husband, John H. Floyd; and sister, Imogene Murphy. Mrs. Floyd was office manager for State Farm Insurance in the office of J.T. Holland in Nassawadox, Va. She was a member of Red Bank Baptist Church in Marionville. She is survived by one son, John H. Floyd III and his wife Julie and two daughters, Anne Littlefield and her husband John and Mary Thomas and her husband Orie Davis. Other survivors include her foster son, Thomas O. Mooney of Chesapeake; her grandchildren, Anna Thomas of New York City, Steven Skeens and Ryan Thomas of Virginia Beach, Heather Littlefield of Richmond, Justin Floyd of Albany, N.Y., Jasmine and Jesse Floyd of Marionville, and Claire Littlefield and her children, Jon Alan, Christina and Christian of Windsor, Va. A funeral will be held today, Sept. 1, 2009 at 1 p.m. in Red Bank Baptist Church in Marionville with the Rev. John M. Robertson officiating. Interment will be in the Liberty Hall Farm Cemetery in Marionville. Memorial donations may be made to Lighthouse Ministries, P.O. Box 54, Keller, VA 23401 or to Hope Tree Family Services (formerly was the Virginia Baptist Children's Home), P.O. Box 849, Salem, VA 24153. Family and friends may sign the guest book at: www.hollandfuneralhome.net. Funeral arrangements are by the B.D. Holland Funeral Home in Nassawadox, Va.
