Stella Mavrophilipos Obituary

Stella A. Mavrophilipos NORFOLK - Stella Annette Mavrophilipos of Norfolk passed away Friday, Sept. 4, 2009, at the age of 56. Annette was a loving daughter to Marcus and Mosca Nickles, a supportive and courageous wife to Dimitrios Avgerinos Mavrophilipos, a strong and unyielding mother for her children: Mark, Avgerinos, Mosca, Vasilea and Christina and a friend to all. Anyone who knew her was touched by her presence. She had a remarkable way of making people feel accepted and loved by her warmth, beauty and radiant smile. She will be greatly missed by everyone. Visitation will be today, Sept. 6, at Freedom Funeral Service Chapel, 5369 Virginia Beach Blvd., from 7 to 9 p.m. There will also be a second viewing at Ruck Funeral Home, 1050 York Road, Towson, MD at 7:30 p.m. A funeral will be at noon Tuesday, Sept. 8, at the Greek Orthodox Annunciation Cathedral, 24 West Preston St., Baltimore, MD 21201. Freedom Funeral Services is in charge.

To Nono Jim, Mark, Avgerinos, Mosca, Vasilea and Christina,

My heart goes out to you all for the loss of Nona Annette. I feel that I was blessed to have Annette as my Godmother. My childhood memories of Nona are full of love and joy. Always smiling and always willing to help. Nona, you always have and will always be in my heart.

I am so sorry for the loss of Thia Annette. I will miss her very much. I am so sorry I couldn't be there for the viewing and funeral. I know she is at peace right now and in a better place. I miss you all very much and hope to see you soon.

My Aunt was the most caring and happy women i knew. She always had a smile on her face and heart that gave and gave. Thia Annette is in a much better place now, with her loved ones and all my love goes out to her children, my cousins.
