Frances Hall Obituary

Frances Belch Hall NORFOLK - Frances Belch Hall, 87, of Commodore Drive, passed away Sept. 7, 2009, in Norfolk. A native of Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late George and Elfie Sedath and the widow of John M. Hall. She was a 60-year member of Miles Memorial United Methodist Church, the Chesapeake Bay Art Association, Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Embroiders Guild of America. She is survived by two daughters, Deborah S. Greene and husband Gary of Louisa, Va., and Janet B. Dunn and husband Billy of Virginia Beach; a son, William D. Belch Jr. and wife Jean of Chesapeake; a brother, Dr. Burton D. Goodwin of Savannah, Ga.; six granddaughters, Laura, Wendy, Kristin, Rebecca, Lauren and Amber; two grandsons, Michael and John; and four great-grandchildren, Scarlet, David, Eric and Nicholas. She was predeceased by her first husband, William Daughtrey Belch Sr.; a brother, George Sedath; and a granddaughter, Ashley. A funeral will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. in Miles Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kathleen Monge officiating. The burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is handling the arrangements. Contributions may be made to Miles Memorial United Methodist Church.
