Theodore Gorrell

Theodore P. Gorrell VIRGINIA BEACH - Theodore P. "Ted" Gorrell, 69, passed away peacefully Sept. 8, 2009, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Gorrell was born Oct. 6, 1939, to the late Arthur and Agnes Gorrell in Parkersburg, W.Va. Ted served in the U.S. Army Reserves and was a long distance truck driver for Transit Homes. He did mechanical work, had his own mobile home moving business and also a landscaping and lot cleaning business. Ted retired after 31 and half years at NNSY as a ship fitter. He was an avid NASCAR fan, a Volkswagen buff, and loved to ride his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 39 years, Beverly G. Gorrell; a son, Brian Lemmond and wife Morag, both of Virginia Beach; a granddaughter, Gillian Baugh; a great-grandson, Landon Greenberg; six brothers; two sisters; and numerous nieces, nephews, and family members. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, the Diabetes Association, or the charity of your choice.
