Douglas Larsen Obituary

Douglas T. Larsen VIRGINIA BEACH - Douglas Todd Larsen, 46, of Rollingwood Arch, passed away Sept. 5, 2009. Doug was born in Princeton, N.J., to the late Nancy J. McCurdy and James L. Larsen. He moved to Virginia Beach in 1971. He graduated from Kempsville High School in 1981 and earned a degree in economics from the University of Virginia. He was employed in sales with PepsiCo and several other corporations. He is survived by his children, Jessica, Jay, Christina and Mary Claire Larsen and their mother Amy Watt Larsen; and his sister, Stephanie Black, her husband William Black and his nieces Linnea and Caroline Black. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of the Intensive Care Unit at Sentara Leigh Hospital for the care provided to Doug. A memorial service will be held at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church, 2228 Princess Anne Road, Saturday, Sept. 12, 2009 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Larsen Children Fund, SunTrust Bank Acct. No. 1000078679916. Cremation & Funeral Services of Tidewater is assisting the family.

I had the chance to know Doug as I coached his rec league Basketball Team. Even then a Sophmore and I a Senior at Kempsville he was a leader and a great guy who enjoyed life. My prayers are with the family.
