Mary Overstreet Obituary

Mary Jane Overstreet CHESAPEAKE - Sept. 17, 2009, Mary Jane Overstreet, 72, flew up to heaven on the wings of angels. Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend was taken peacefully in her sleep at her home on Southern Pines Drive in Chesapeake. Jane lived a full life and all those she met along the way knew what a blessing it was to call her their friend. She loved going to Dover and playing her Texas Hold'em! The friends she met over a game of cards always turned into family. She is survived by six children, Kenneth Overstreet, Gloria Moore, Mary Spruill, Barbara (D'Ambrosio) Tolbert, Richard Overstreet and Amy Overstreet, 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and so many friends. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norview Chapel. A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, 2009, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Please share your love and condolences with the family at www.mem.com.

My thoughts and prayers are with you, her family. I knew your mom from playing Texas Hold-em. She and I were in the same league. She was such a nice lady and a good player too. She will be truly missed
