Donald Ooton Sr.

Donald Ooton Obituary

Donald Alton Ooton Sr. PORTSMOUTH - Donald Alton Ooton Sr., 68, of the 100 block of W. Tyler Crescent, died Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009, in his residence. A native of Costa Mesa, Calif., he was retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. Survivors include a daughter, Valerie Douglas and husband Robert of Mechanicsville; a son, Donald A. Ooton Jr. and wife Lorrie of Virginia Beach; three grandchildren, Taylor Douglas, Donald A. Ooton III and Bliss Ooton; his longtime companion, Ethel Noble; and his loving dog, Baby Ooton. It was Donald's wish to be cremated. A memorial service will be held at the residence at a later date. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, handled arrangements. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com.
