Ruth and Family,
We were so ssorry to hear of your loss. Sam's passing is a loss to all of us who were fortunate enough to know him. He was a pastor, friend, confident and always a strong advocate for and an inspiration to our children. Even though we did not see or talk with him often, it was always comforting to know that he was just a phone call away. We all will truly miss him.

To Ruth and Family: Sam was a man among men for his dedication, vision and purpose. I substituted for him in his pulpit when he started a mission on the corner of Cassady and Innis in the Crossroad Business Center, Columbus , Ohio. Ruth was a classmate with me at Ohio Dominican College when the movie Roots was being read, reviewed and studied. I will always remember the Varners. He has now encountered the words of our Lord, "Well done thou good andf faith-ful servant, enter into the joys of the Lord.

Sincerely,
Rev. Harold L. Turner

Dear Rev Varner,

Thank you for being such a positive influence on my life. You will be missed. Because of you I have been able to teach my cousins and nephews the value of education and a history of their culture. My prayers are with you and your family.
