Gerald Gardner Obituary

Gerald Brent Gardner Sr. NORFOLK - Gerald Brent Gardner Sr., 57, died Monday, Oct. 5, 2009, while at his residence in Norfolk. He was the third of 10 children born to Earl Gardner and the late Dorothy Davis Gardner. He had recently retired from ILA Local 1624 after 25 years of service. He was a member of the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Annie; his father, Earl; one daughter, Christina; two sons, Jubril and Gerald Jr.; one stepdaughter, Timika; five grandchildren, Geremiah, Kayla, Aubrey, Damien and Brianna; nine siblings, Earl Ward of Baltimore, Randall Sr. (Aldena), Gregory, Sandra, Dwayne, Kathy (Leon), Beatrice, Dorothy Elouise (Marvin) and Barry (Ayanna), all of Hampton Roads; many aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. The funeral will take place Saturday at 11 a.m. in Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 934 W. Little Creek Road, Norfolk, with Pastor William Davis officiating. The body will be placed in the church for viewing prior to the funeral beginning at 9 a.m. Professional services will be provided by Chatman/E.A. Hughes Funeral Home. The burial will take place in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Guests will be received at the parents' home, 1017 Baltimore St., Norfolk. www.eahughes.biz.

Oh, My God! I am still in shock! I cannot begin to imagine what happened but God in His infinite wisdom allowed it to be so. So knowing that, I thank him for my friend Gerald. I pray that God will bless you, his family and loved ones, with much peace and love as you mourn the loss of your loved one.
