Peter Marihew Obituary

Peter James Marihew VIRGINIA BEACH - Peter James Marihew, 71, passed away Oct. 11, 2009. He was born July 12, 1938, in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., to the late Gerald and Elizabeth Marihew. Peter served his country in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam, retiring as a chief warrant officer 2. Peter also retired from Lucent Technologies where he was an electronic engineer. He was a happy man with a wonderful sense of humor. His greatest pleasures were traveling with his wife and spending time with his family. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 49 years, Helen Marihew; son, James D. Marihew and wife Nancy of North Carolina; daughter, Susan Fulton and husband David of Virginia Beach; brother, Paul Marihew and wife Diane of Colorado; sister, Susan Tryner and husband Kenneth of Virginia Beach; and two grandchildren, C.J. and Alexander Marihew. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home with a service at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sentara Hospice. You may offer condolences at www.mem.com.
