Ethel Miller Brown NORFOLK - Ethel Miller Brown, 99, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009. Born in South Norfolk, Va., she was the daughter of the late Mary Johanson Miller and Capt. Edward R. Miller and was the widow of Stanley Mason Brown. Mrs. Brown resided in the Berkley section of Norfolk for many years and graduated from Maury High School in 1928. She attended "The Rainbows" of the Catholic Church of the Ascension. She is survived by four grandchildren, Edward Robert McClanan, Rose Marie Nelson Howell, Dolena M. Meneses, and Ernest M. Meneses; her good friend, Nettie Browder Martin; and Nettie's son and wife Robert and Amy Browder who took good care of her in her later years. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara B. Meneses. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, in the Norfolk chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. by Father James Park.
