Sadie Taylor Obituary

Sadie E. Taylor VIRGINIA BEACH - Sadie Elizabeth Farrar Taylor, 89, lifelong resident of Virginia Beach, went to be with her Lord Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009. She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Gilbert J. Taylor Sr. She is survived by her two sons, Gilbert J. Taylor Jr. and his wife Gail and John M. Taylor and his wife Linda. She was known affectionately as "Nana" by four grandchildren, John R. Taylor, Gilbert J. Taylor III, Christopher R. Taylor and Anne M. Taylor; and her great-granddaughter, Kendall Sadie Taylor. Sadie was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Virginia Beach. She was past matron and 50-year member of the Virginia Beach Chapter No. 75 Order of the Eastern Star and of the Ladies Oriental Shrine. A funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday Oct. 21, at First Baptist Church, 35th Street, Virginia Beach. Burial will follow at Rosewood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends today from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family asks the donations be made to First Baptist Church, 401 35th St., Virginia Beach, VA 23451.

When we think of the sun, sand and ocean of Virginia Beach, know that we are also thinking fondly of all our memories of "Miss Sadie Taylor".

And know that in our hearts her spirit will live on in "our" own Sadie Taylor.
