William Stead Obituary

William A. Stead VIRGINIA BEACH - William A. "Bill" Stead, 65, passed away Oct. 18, 2009, at home following a lengthy illness. Bill was born in Hialeah, Fla., to the late William and Lovenia Stead. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Barbara; his three daughters, Tracy Creamer (Mark), Becky Campbell (Bernie) and Kelly Stead; grandson, Brody Creamer; his brother, Richard Stead (Phyllis) of Las Vegas, Nev.; many aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Bill joined the Navy in 1962, retiring in 1990 from Naval Ocean Processing Facility Dam Neck as an OTMCS (SW). After his retirement, he was employed with DMS Management and Checkered Flag Honda. A graveside service will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in Colonial Grove Memorial Park with Pastor Heidi Moore of Emmanuel Lutheran Church officiating. The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, today from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Chesapeake Health Foundation-Hospice Fund, P.O. Box 2028, Chesapeake, VA 23327 or American Cancer Society. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
