Angela Walker Obituary

Angela D. Walker VIRGINIA BEACH - Angela Dawn Walker was called home unexpectedly Oct. 16, 2009, to be with her God. Born Feb. 4, 1970 in Huntington, W.Va., Angie grew up in Virginia Beach and throughout her life had a special gift of spreading hope, joy, love, and laughter to all who knew her. Angie's innate ability to light up a room with her smile will be greatly missed by those who knew her and the many lives she touched. Angie was the loving daughter of Cherry and Don Lane of Virginia Beach, an extremely dedicated sister to her brother, Jimmy Blake. So much so, that in 2000, when faced with the tragic loss of her sister-in-law, Corrina Blake to cancer, in a most selfless act, Angie gave up a successful career in the real estate industry and dedicated her life to become a stay-at-home mom to Tristan Blake, a treasured "Auntie" to Mitzi Blake, and beloved best friend, soul mate, and fiancé to Andrew C. Edwards. In addition to her countless friends, left to cherish her memory are her mentors, and special gifts in life David Flynn, Brian Gilpin, and Bart Frye. Most important, and never to be left alone was the absolute love of her life, Charlie, her dog. Family will receive friends at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home located at 1264 Great Neck Road in Virginia Beach at 3 p.m. followed at 4 p.m. by a celebration of her life service Thursday, Oct. 22. A very special burial will be held at a later date where she will be placed beside Corrina at the special request of Tristan and the rest of the family. Condolences may be offered to the family at www. hollomon-brown.com.

Many have been asking about donations in lieu of flowers. Angie had become very passionate about melanoma research. You may make a memorial donation to the Cancer Research Institute. They allow you to specify the cancer research you would like to sponsor. A donation to melanoma research would be a wonderful way to honor Angie. You may donate here.
