I served with CDR Jackson when he was XO in ROBERTS. I will never forget him or his laugh or his voice that you could hear from the other end of the ship. He always seemed happy where he was - he acted like a man who was living a good life. I hold him amoung those I envied and respected. He was a good man.

I knew CDR Jackson as the husband of my boss, CDR Kurtz. He was a very nice man. Sierra, I am sorry for your loss. Regards, Mick Pendergist, U.S. Navy Retired, NRD Atlanta Education Specialist 1997 - 1999

To the Jackson Family,
I had the honor to serve with Steve in USS TAYLOR when he was the Operations Officer and I was the Chief Engineer. Steve was an outstanding officer and good friend who helped me through some tough times. He often spoke of his family with great pride and love. He will be missed, but the lives he touched go on, better for knowing him.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all,
Todd Black

To the Jackson Family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you. Steve and I served together in the Wardroom of the USS TAYLOR. Steve was a great leader that all officers in the Wardroom looked up to in order to help us stay strong and focused through a very tough and challenging tour of duty.
I had the pleasure of leaving TAYLOR together with Steve in June 1994 as we made our journey back to the states from Egypt. (With a short stay in Sicily) I have missed his friendship and confidence ever sense we parted ways.
God bless you,
John Toye

To the Jackson Family,
Weeping may endure for a night but joy may come in the morning time, it is morning time because CDR Jackson is in a better place.
CDR Jackson will be missed; I really enjoyed all of the words of wisdom that he provided me during my stay at COMNAVSURFLANT. My prayers will continue to be with the family.

Dear Jackson Family,
It has been approximately 32 years since I had Steve in my Geometry class at HHHS. After reading the testimonials in this guest book, you must be so proud of this wonderful son, husband and father. As the mother-in-law of a USNA grad, I know the dedication and love that these men have for their country. May your memories of Steve and your faith in God comfort you at this time and always. I can still remember where Steve sat, his charming ways when his homework was not complete, especially during football season, and that he was a pretty good math student!
With deepest sympathy,

Cynthia, Sierra and the Jackson family,
My condolences to all of you.
I had the honor of serving with Steve aboard the USS Taylor FFG50 and later aboard the USS Samuel B. Roberts FFG58. He always found a way show you the positive side of everything and in a way in which you could not argue. Who would want to argue with an XO as big as Steve.
He made sure his sailors had their priorities straight. He told us "Sammy B. sailors have three priorities: GOD, FAMILY, and then the Sammy B."
My prayers are with you.

Sierra,
While you and I never met, I have heard many a story about you:) Your father and I were stationed together at SURFLANT in the N6 directorate at the same time, and retired within months of each other. I have a son your age who is attending college as well and Steve and I would share our war stories of our kids going off to college. I can say he loved you much, was extremely proud of you and would want you to tackle the rest of your life journey with the same energy and love of life he and your mother instilled in you. Know you have an extended family in our US Navy who have you in our prayers!
Deepest Sympathy,
Todd Jack

Dear Jackson's Family,
Steve was an outstanding Naval Officer and loved his family. I only knew Steve briefly but he had a very positive outlook on life and was ready to retire and spend more time with his family. He was very proud of his wife and his family.
I wish you all the best, and please know Steve is still trying to take care of you all.
My deepest sympathy,

Dear Sierra, Cynthia, and Maude,
The entire Diaz clan is deeply saddened by your loss. I loved Steve like a brother and will miss him. While words can not convey the measure of support we have for you, I do want to you to know that I always appreciated Steve's zeal for all things. He touched my entire family and his spirit will always have a place in my heart.
Sierra, I was fortunate enough to spend a few days with your Dad last month and he confided to me that although you drove him crazy : ), much like my Sierra does me, he was very proud of you and loved you very much.
My deepest sympathy and love,
Hakim
