Odessa Washington Obituary

Odessa Washington PORTSMOUTH - Odessa "OD" Washington, 61, of the 2400 block of Graham St., Portsmouth, passed away Oct. 21, 2009 in Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center. She was born and educated in Portsmouth. She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Milranda E. Jones, Portsmouth; a son, Alvin Washington (Yulondia), Suffolk; two sisters, Gloria Jean Cook, Brooklyn, N.Y., and Barbara Jean Reid (Charles), Virginia Beach; five brothers, Curtis Lee Cook (Mildred), Sanford, Donnell and Anthony Jordan all of Portsmouth and Alonzo Jordon of Florida; nine grandchildren, six great- grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church, Portsmouth. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery, Portsmouth. Steele-Bullock Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Viewing will be held today from noon to 6 p.m. Family and friends will assemble at the residence at 12:15 p.m. for the procession to the church. Send condolences to www.steelebullockfuneralhome.com.
