Christine Wallace Obituary

Christine Wallace CHESAPEAKE - Christine Wallace, 76, went home to be with our Lord and Saviour Monday, Oct. 26, 2009, surrounded by loving family. She was born in South Norfolk on July 15, 1933, the daughter of the late David P. and Edna V. Hatchell. Christine was a member of Southside Baptist Church, and most recently attended Raleigh Heights Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her daughters, Catherine Pedersen and husband Ed of Fallbrook, Calif., Janet Kodmon and husband Brian of Carrollton, Va.; her son, Wayne Wallace and wife Kim of Suffolk. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Erin McDonald and her husband Justin and Brian Pedersen of Fallbrook, Andrew Martin of Chesapeake, Salina Kodmon, Sarah Burr and her husband Shawn, and Brian Kodmon of Portsmouth; and her five great- grandchildren, Timothy, Erik, Hayley, McKenna and Maddox. A celebration of her life will be conducted Thursday, Oct. 29, at 11 a.m. in Raleigh Heights Baptist Church, 1000 Crowell Ave., Chesapeake. The Rev. Jim Thompson will officiate. Interment will follow in Riverside Memorial Park, 1000 E. Indian River Road, Norfolk. The visitation will begin today with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Francis Gay Chapel of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, 1146 Rodgers St., Chesapeake. Memorial donations may be made in her name to the South Norfolk Public Library. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Francis Gay Chapel of Oman Funeral Home & Crematory, Chesapeake. Friends are also invited to send condolences and sign the online guestbook at www.omanfh.com.
