Maude Presson Obituary

Maude F. Presson CARRSVILLE - Maude Francis Presson, 89, widow of Lee Presson, died Oct. 27, 2009. Born in Southampton County, she was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church and its senior citizens group. She was predeceased by her father, Charlie William Francis; her mother, Edith Francis Presson; her stepfather, Willie "Bee" Presson; four brothers, Fletcher, William, Vernon and Calvin Francis; and a sister, Marjorie Hunnings. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Bernice P. "Dixie" Cobb Jenkins and husband William of Wakefield; a sister, Mary P. Turner of Franklin; four grandchildren, Steve Cobb (Teresa), Timmy Cobb (Karla), Ricky Cobb and Vicki Cobb Brinkley, all of Windsor; five great-grandchildren, Eric Cobb of Virginia Beach, Nathan Cobb (Misty) of Suffolk, Brittney Cobb of Las Vegas, Nev., Kriston Cobb of Greenville, N.C., and Shane Brinkley of Windsor; one great-great-grandchild, Aiden Cobb; one stepgrandson and two step great-grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Beaver Dam Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Richard Peerey officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, and suggests memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 6315 N. Center Drive, Suite 233, Norfolk, VA 23502. www.wrightfuneralhome.org.

My heart and prayers go out to all of my family and friends who or grieving the lost of Aunt Maude. She was a wonderful woman and a friend to everyone she knew.She will always hold a special place in my heart for I loved her dearly. Until we meet again Aunt Maude....RIP
