Elnora Edmonds

Elnora Edmonds CHESAPEAKE - Elnora Josephine Edmonds, "El," 83, of the 1900 block of Burson Drive, was called home to be with the Lord Monday, Oct. 26, 2009. She was born Nov. 22, 1925 in Jackson, N.C., to late Charlie and Maggie Lee Dunn. Elnora was a member of Saint Mark Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a senior missionary and a member of the Usher Board No. 2. She was also a member of Deep Creek Civic League and the Eastern Star. She was predeceased by her husband, Clifton B. Edmonds, but she leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Clementine "Tina" Holland and Chris Jones; four sons, Robert 'Shakey" Edmonds, Curley Edmonds, Chris Edmonds, and Antonio Edmonds. Also left to cherish her memory are two sisters, Lillian Thomas, and Beatrice Wyche; 33 grandchildren, 64 great-grandchildren, and 31 great-great-grandchildren. Viewing will be held Friday, Oct. 30, from 3 until 7 p.m. at J.T. Fisher Funeral Services, 1080 N. George Washington Hwy., Chesapeake. A life celebration service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church, 2714 Frederick Blvd., Portsmouth, VA 23704, where Bishop Curtis Edmonds is pastor. Minister Eli Ruffin will be the eulogist. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at 802 Stratford St., Portsmouth. The family has entrusted J.T.
