Goldie Cohen PITTSBURGH - Goldie Cohen, 93, died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009, in a Pittsburgh hospital. She was a native of Roanoke, Va., and was the daughter of the late Phillip Butler and the late Mollie Zedd Weinstein. She was preceded in death by her loving stepfather, David Weinstein; her devoted husband, Dr. Meyer Cohen; her beloved grandson, David Scott Friedman; her beloved sons-in-law, Hillard Friedman and Jerry Krause; and her siblings, Ada Cadd, Mary Samuels and Buddy Weinstein. She was a former longtime resident of Richmond and Norfolk and lived in Pittsburgh since 2002. She was a former member of Beth El Synagogue in Richmond. Survivors include her children, Anne Marlyn Friedman of Boca Raton, Fla., Linda Gale Krause of Pittsburgh, Dr. Jerome Cohen of Richmond and Marc Stephen Cohen of Pittsburgh. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Robin Friedman, Suzy Goldman and her husband Lon, Michelle Krause, Michael Krause-Grosman and his wife Ellen and great- grandchildren, Brandon Bebout, Haley and Madeleine Goldman, Gabriel and Rachel Krause-Grosman; many nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held in the Norfolk chapel of H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts. today, Nov. 1, at 1 p.m. with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Rabbi Arthur Ruberg, Rabbi Susan Tendler and Cantor Gordon Piltch will officiate. Following the burial the family will sit shiva at 255 College Cross, Norfolk. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
