Leroy Bucholz

Leroy J. Bucholz VIRGINIA BEACH - Leroy James Bucholz, 74, passed away Oct. 27, 2009, surrounded by his family after a long, courageous battle with cancer. Buck proudly served his country in the United States Navy retiring after 30 years. He then spent 15 years in the civil service as a training instructor for the U.S. Army. Throughout his life, Buck spent time with friends and family, enjoyed playing golf, watching Vikings football games with his boys, seeing his grandchildren grow, and serving as an active parishioner of Holy Spirit. We love and miss you. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 49 years, Gertrude M. Bucholz; mother, Veronica Dulski; sons, David and wife Brenda, Gregory and wife Joan, James and wife Chrissy, and Curtis and wife Kelley; 10 grandchildren, Zachary, Holly, Brian, Tina, Brandon, Caroline, Morgan, Bryce, Bailey and Barrett; brothers, John, Bill, Butch and Paul; and sisters, Helen, Rose and Geri. Buck was preceded in death by his father, Florian, and stepgrandson, JR Combs. A memorial Mass will be held at 2 p.m. today, Oct. 31, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, celebrated by the Rev. Timothy M. Kuhneman. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
