Jamar Gregory Obituary

Jamar M. Gregory CHESAPEAKE - Jamar M. Gregory, 17, went home to be with his heavenly Father Oct. 2, 2009. He attended Hickory Middle School where he received an award for Special Olympics and the Honor Roll. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Catrice Gregory; father, Stacy Burrus (Rebecca); brother, Ryan Gregory; uncle, Teric Gregory; nephew, Jaiden Gregory; four aunts; his best friend, Khari Roberts. A celebration of life will be held today, Oct. 31, at noon in Centerville Chapel AME Church with Pastor David Holiday officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Special thanks to those who had a significant part in his life: Timothy Nebit, personal barber; Latonya Jones, personal caretaker; Hickory Middle School staff and classmates; Tidewater Pediatric Consultants; Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters; bus driver and assistants; family and friends. Rivers Community Funeral Home, Elizabeth City, expressing sympathy to the Gregory family through sincere services.

I will always remember Jamar's positive attitude and his wonderful smile. He truly touched the lives of those of us fortunate enough to know him.

Jamar was a special person. I have so many wonderful memories of him during the time that I taught him at Hickory Middle School. He enriched my life by wonderful smile and his enthusiastic attitude. I will always remember him.
