Betty Gardner Obituary

Betty Anne Gardner NORFOLK - Betty Anne Gardner, 74, passed away Oct. 26, 2009, at Leigh Memorial Hospital. Born May 10, 1935, in Concord, N.C., she and her family moved to Norfolk in 1978. She, a survivor of breast cancer, spent the majority of her life as a housewife and mother, always supporting her family. She was preceded by one son, Michael. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Thomas; two sons, Mark of Portsmouth and Anthony of Suffolk; two grandchildren, Evan and Shelby of Ishpeming, Mich.; and one sister Francis of Manhattan, Kan. There will be a small family gathering at her request. Donations can be made to the American Breast Cancer Foundation in lieu of flowers. Cremation & Funeral Services of Tidewater assisted the family.
