Charles Speller Obituary

Charles A. Speller VIRGINIA BEACH - Charles A. Speller, 47, of the 600 block of Winding Way, departed this life Oct. 27, 2009. He served his country as staff sergeant in the U.S. Army. After leaving the U.S. Army, Charles furthered his career as a mail handler for the U.S. Postal Service. Charles was a member of First Calvary Baptist Church, Norfolk. He is survived by one son, Charles A. Pittman; his parents, Charles and Earlene Painter Speller; two brothers, Michael Speller and Keith Wright; one sister, Regina Peele; his fiancée, Sharon Gaddy; and a host of other relatives and friends. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Metropolitan Funeral Service, 7246 Granby St. Interment will be in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk. Family and friends will assemble at 1218 Lakeview Drive, Portsmouth one hour prior to the service for the procession to the chapel. Viewing will be held from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered at www.metropolitanfuneralservice.com.
