Patricia Angleman Obituary

Patricia M. Angleman VIRGINIA BEACH - Patricia MacDonald Angleman, 81, passed away peacefully Oct. 25, 2009, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born Sept. 11, 1928, in Los Angeles, the daughter of the late Daniel T. and Edith A. MacDonald. In her early 20s, she was a member of an equestrian riding and jumping troop that rode in the Rose Bowl parade. In 1951, Pat fell in love and married a dashing young Naval officer, Cornell C. Angleman, who had just returned from the Korean War. In 1963, she moved to Virginia Beach with her then U.S. Navy captain husband and their three children, where Pat lived until her death. Throughout much of her life she was active in "Little Theatres" across the country and locally, where she excelled in a number of dramatic roles. In the late 1960s, she began a career in news broadcasting, public relations, marketing, and advertising. In the 1990's she become a real estate broker, which she pursued passionately until the final days of her illness. Pat is survived by her brother, Daniel T. MacDonald Jr. of Los Angeles; her children, Van Angleman and wife Laura of San Diego, Alan Angleman and wife Julie of Dickerson, Md., and Diane Wise and husband Carl of Charlottesville, Va.; and by her grandchildren, Alexander Angleman, Beckett Browning, Sara Angleman Almén and husband Oskar, Joane Ofeldt and husband Sean, Paula Angleman and fiancé Brent Hobbs, Robert Baker and Brian Baker and wife Kate. She also has two great-grandchildren on the way. A memorial service will be held at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, Monday, Nov. 2, at 2 p.m. with a reception following. The Endependence Center Board of Directors greatly appreciates the time and effort Pat contributed as an ECI Board Member. Her insights and knowledge were very helpful to the Board during her years of service. We offer our sincere condolences to the family and we will all miss her.
