E. Hudgins Obituary

E. Linwood Hudgins PORTSMOUTH - Elvin Linwood Hudgins, 79, of the 5100 block of Deep Creek Blvd., passed away Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009. He was born Jan. 10, 1930 to the late Buddy and Mary Hudgins, in the Fentress area of Chesapeake, where Linwood worked on the family farm and obtained his love and knowledge of farming. He retired as a truck driver from the Blue & Gray Transportation Co. of Chesapeake after 20 years of service. In addition to his parents, Linwood was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheila H. Phillips. He is survived by his friend and companion for more than 34 years, Patricia Suggs; seven sons, Stanley and Randy Hudgins, Jack, Mark, Ron, Paul, and Chad Suggs; a daughter, Pam Brown; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Norfolk. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life. www.SturtevantFuneralHome.com.

I wish I could be there tomorrow. I feel so horrible that I didn't get to see you Grandpa before hand. I miss you and I wish I had gotten to know you better. You seemed like a great person. Say hello to Mom(Sheila) and Dad(Dwight) for me. I love you. My deepest sympathy for all my family right now in Virginia, you too are in my thoughts.
