Sally Rankin Obituary

Sally B. Rankin NORFOLK - Sally Blankenship Rankin, 66, of the 3500 block of Peronne Ave., passed away Nov. 2, 2009 in Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center. A native of Norfolk, she was the daughter of the late Lewis G. and Inez B. Blankenship. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Walter H. Rankin; her daughter, Susan Rankin and husband Chip Smith of Herndon, Va.; her son, Scott Rankin of Norfolk; and two grandsons, Cameron Combs and Clayton Smith. A memorial service will be conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. A reception will follow at 1432 Gates Ave., Norfolk. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the SPCA. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.

Walter - and the entire family,
I am so sorry to hear about your loss. May you have some comfort that she is no longer in pain. My thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of sorrow. God bless your family. I know first hand how hard it is having a loved one with such a horrible illness. Remember I care & love you all.
