Robert Golden Obituary

Robert W. Golden VIRGINIA BEACH - Robert Waverly Golden, 85, passed away Nov. 1, 2009, in Sun City Center, Fla. A native of Roanoke, Va., he was the son of John and Joye Golden. He was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, a veteran of World War II, the former owner of Printcraft Press Inc. in Portsmouth and a two-time past president of the Printing Industries of the Virginias. He was a past chairman of the Tidewater Chapter of the American Heart Association and a member of the Portsmouth Jaycees. Mr. Golden is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Nona B. Golden. Also surviving are sister, Phyllis O'Berry (Vernon) and brother, Tucky (Carole), all of Portsmouth; daughter, Gloria Strawn (Richard) of Brandon, Fla.; and sons, Bruce (Celia) and Michael (Shannon), both of Virginia Beach, and John (fiancée Allyson Harter) of Mount Pleasant, S.C.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; as well as many in-laws, cousins, nieces, and nephews. A funeral will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel. The burial will follow in Princess Anne Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com.
