Corlonus Patillo Obituary

Corlonus Patillo Jr. PORTSMOUTH - Corlonus Patillo Jr., 80, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009. He was born in Warren County, North Carolina, the son of the late Corlonus Patillo Sr. and Lucy Dunston Patillo-Coleman. He attended public schools in Norfolk and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1948. Corlonus served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1954, he returned to Norfolk where he was employed by the Naval Rework Facility and retired in 1991. Corlonus was a member of the First Baptist Church Lambert's Point in Norfolk, and later moved to Portsmouth and joined Ebenezer Baptist Church. His affiliation included the Crusaders Ministry, Ebenezer Plaza Non-Profit Board, and the 50 Plus Ministry. He was also a supporting member of the NAACP. He leaves to cherish his memory his very devoted and loving wife, Mary C.H. Patillo; daughter, Gail Renee Patillo-Perry; granddaughter, Kristina Bolden; four great- grandchildren; two sisters, Janette P. Brunner and Flossie P. Gordon; one brother, Charlie E. Patillo; eight aunts; many nieces, nephews, godchildren and friends. A funeral will be held Saturday, Nov. 7, at 1 p.m. in Ebenezer Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Corprew Funeral Home is in charge. The family wishes to thank Dr. Michael Camp, Dr. Olds, Dr. Hartman, Bridge and Hospice Program and the total staff for their services.

Sister Patillo,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. We know that GOD is always with you, and will give you the strength to see you through this sad time. Revelation 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
