Elizabeth Hardesty-Clendenin Obituary

E. Hardesty-Clendenin VIRGINIA BEACH - Quietly and peacefully surrounded by family, Elizabeth Martin Hardesty-Clendenin, passed this world in her sleep last evening Nov. 6, 2009. Her lengthy battle with breast cancer was an example to those who knew her, always optimistic with a caring smile. She is survived by her loving husband, Bill; daughter, Blair; brother, Stephen; sister, Kathy; not to forget Sophie, her ever-faithful dog, and a host of other relatives and friends. She was an example of all that is good in a person, who only sees the positive in everyone. Beth wishes to express a special thanks to the nurses at Virginia Oncology, and Sentara Home Hospice. Interment will take place in Oquawka Municipal Cemetery in Illinois. In lieu of flowers, friends are encouraged to contribute to the American Cancer Society. "It is this sorrow of separation...this overspreading pain that deepens into loves and desires, into sufferings and joys in human homes; and this it is that ever melts and flows in songs through my poet's heart." - R. Tagore. Condolences may be expressed at www.altmeyer.com.
