Larry Altman Obituary

Larry T. Altman Sr. CHESAPEAKE - Larry Thomas Altman Sr., 67, of the 1000 block of Cogliandro Drive, went to be with the Lord Nov. 9, 2009, in Chesapeake. A native of Columbia, S.C., he was the son of the late Hillary T. and Frances Huggins Altman. A member of Bethel Baptist Church, he was a self- employed contractor and avid fan of NASCAR. He is survived by his wife, Betty Lee Altman; a son, Larry T. "Tommy" Altman Jr. and his wife Donna; six grandchildren; four great- grandchildren and four sisters. He was preceded in death by a son, Allen Scott Altman. A funeral will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Bethel Baptist Church, Chesapeake, with the Rev. Reggie Hester officiating. Interment will be in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. at Graham Funeral Home, Greenbrier Chapel. My Dearest Betty, Uncle Jack told us about Larry passing-it was so soon after his surgery but at least he did not suffer too long. I know that times like now are very hard to bear and my heart pours out to you. I always thought he looked like Elvis when he was younger-so handsome. Please tell everyone hello for me.

Betty I am so sorry to hear about Larry, it has been so many years since I had seen him.I was so young when we all grew up together but I do remember him always smiling and that he was such a handsome man. We are all thinking of you at this time and may God comfort you at this time, always turn to him he is always there.
