Clarine Smith Obituary

Clarine Smith CHESAPEAKE - Clarine Smith of the 1300 block of Deep Creek Blvd. died Nov. 12, 2009, in Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center. Born Jan. 30, 1930, in Norfolk, the daughter of Julia and John Shorter, she was educated in Baltimore's public schools. Clarine retired from Chesapeake Public Schools after 30 years of service. Predeceased by husband, Willie Smith and son, Dreaker Smith, she is survived by son, Duryea Smith; daughter, Vanessa Nesbit Copeland; son-in-law, Horace Copeland; grandsons, Brandon Nesbit and Timothy Nesbit Jr. (Twanna); granddaughters, Erin and Clarine Smith; great-grandson, Brandon Nesbit Jr.; and great-granddaughters, Alanie and Nya Nesbit. She was member of New Hope Baptist Church, St. Julien's Creek, Chesapeake, and affiliated with Intercessory Prayer and Busy Bees. A funeral will be Wednesday, Nov. 18, at noon in New Hope Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Corprew Funeral Home is in charge.
