Zelda Elkins Obituary

Zelda Marie Elkins EDENTON - Zelda Marie Elkins, 77, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, in Britthaven Nursing. Ms. Elkins was the daughter of the late Pearl Elizabeth Moore and Hoyt William Gaskins and the wife of the late Robert Elkins Sr. Mrs. Elkins is survived by her three sons, Raymond Fergerson, Joseph Fergerson, and Tommy Fergerson; three stepsons, Robert Elkins, Ricky Elkins and James Elkins; and one stepdaughter, Brenda E. Lussier; 24 grandchildren and five great- grandchildren. Friends may sign the online register by visiting www. evansfac.com. A celebration of Ms. Elkins' life will be held at Evans Funerals and Cremations Chapel at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, with the Rev. Randy Peirce officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, Nov. 18, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Elkins on Yeopim Trial. Burial will be held in Arlington National Cemetery at 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, 2009. Memorials may be made to the Memorial Fund at Britthaven Nursing Home, 1341 Paradise Road, Edenton. Evans Funerals and Cremations of Edenton is serving the Elkins family.
