John R. Traylor VIRGINIA BEACH - Master Chief Ship's Serviceman (SHCM) John Randolph Traylor, 81, died Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009, at his home surrounded by his family. Born Feb. 9, 1928, he was a son of the late John B. and Nancy Duty Traylor. He was formerly an operations manager with Mohawk Marketing Corp. and was a member of The Church of the Ascension. U.S. Navy Master Chief John R. Traylor retired with 21 years of service and was a member of the U.S. Navy Memorial Foundation and supported the Virginia Disabled American Veterans. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Anne Traylor; his children, Paula Jester of Virginia Beach, Michael Traylor of Norfolk, Nancy Loose and her husband Mark of Chesapeake, Stephen Traylor of Virginia Beach; his grandchildren, Christopher Jester, Megan and her husband Ryan McClaugherty, Clare Jester, Shaun Jester, Kyle Loose and Christian Traylor; his great- grandchildren, Logan, Allanah and Landon McClaugherty. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at the Church of the Ascension with Father James E. Parke as celebrant. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach.
